Celsco's PT9000 Series Heavy Industrial String Pots Offers Rugged Solution for Demanding Environments


This series has become the workhorse for long stroke applications. Available with standard industrial feedback signals and controller bus connectivity, the PT9000 Series offers the perfect solution for applications ranging from mobile hydraulics to factory automation.

Celesco offers several models and options for just about any application. Our standard PT9000 Series offers full stroke ranges ranges up to 550 inches and our Extended Range PT9000 Series go up to 1700 inches.

PT9101- Comes standard with a 500 ohm precision potentiometer to provide a voltage divider output signal proportional to the position of the measuring cable. Constructed with a rugged precision plastic hybrid potentiometer, the PT9101 delivers essentially infinite resolution and high cycle life to the most demanding applications. 10K-ohm, an adjustable bridge circuit and other options are also available.

PT9150 - Offers an incremental encoder output signal. Yielding resolution up to 250 pulses per inch, this sensor offers a wide variety of encoder driver options to meet just about any controller card interface. Open collector, push-pull and 5V line driver to name a few. Because the internal sensing element is a non-contact optical encoder, the PT9150 is the perfect solution for most extremely high cycle applications.

PT9301 - Delivers position and velocity feedback information. The PT9301 tracks velocity with an internal tachometer that generates a DC output signal proportional to the speed of the measuring cable. The PT9301 also offers the same precise position output signal just like the PT9101 and is available with 500-ohm thru 10K-ohm potentiometer options.

PT9420 - Is available with either a two-wire 4...20mA or a three-wire 0...20 mA output signal. Each signal option has an adjustable zero and span to allow the user to precisely set the signal to match the exact stroke of the application. CSA and Cenelec rated intrinsically safe options are also available for hazardous area applications. Such applications require the use of a zener barrier.

PT9510 - Four output signal options are available: 0...10, 0...5, -5...+5, and -10...+10 Vdc. The PT9510 provides a true "absolute" signal position that is tracked by its internal potentiometer that keeps position in the event of the loss of power. The PT9510 requires just 14.5-40 VDC for 0...10 volt signal and only 10.5 for a 0...5 Vdc signal making is a perfect solution for mobil applications.

PT9600 - Want an absolute encoder signal? Or use your own encoder perhaps? The PT9600 will mate to just about anybody's encoder, resolver or multi-turn rotary sensor with ease. You tell us what you want to mate it to and we'll do the rest.

PT9CN and PT9DN - Celesco also offers CanBUS J1939 and DeviceNET solutions for linear position applications. Both PT9CN (CanBus) and PT9DN (DeviceNET) generate a 16-bit position signals to track position movement over their entire stroke range.

Options:

VLS9000 - is an option for this series of transducers to control the velocity of a free-released measuring cable to slow it down to a speed that doesn't damage the cable nor the internal potentiometer inside. This is a much requested option for mobile or temporary installations where mishandling of the measuring cable is very likely.

RBS9000 - For extremely grungy or dirty environments that require limiting foreign material from entering into the spool cavity that houses the measuring cable reel. This option seals the traversing mechanism and reduces the cable exit down to a single point. Additionally, the cable passes through two brushes to help wipe off the measuring cable before it enters the sensor.
